People power takes political control in Parma, Italy

A new force has exploded onto the Italian political scene.

It is not a party of the usual kind, but a citizens' movement born on the internet.

Its supporters have contempt for Italy's traditional parties and politicians and are shaking the political establishment.

Alan Johnston reports from the northern city of Parma, where ''people power'' is the order of the day.
