Stone Skimming: How to be a World Champion

It may not have been an Olympic sport, but it still takes dedication and training to be a champion at stone skimming - the time-honoured pastime of throwing flat stones across still water so that they bounce along the surface.

This weekend, the best skimmers from across the globe gathered in Scotland to battle for the coveted title of World Champion.

Before the competition, BBC News met leading contender Paul Crabtree to get some of his top tips for stone skimming - then followed him as he contested the title.
