Pope Francis includes women in historic Maundy ritual
Pope Francis has broken with tradition by including women in a ritual in which he washed and kissed the feet of 12 young prisoners.
The Maundy Thursday ceremony commemorates Jesus's gesture of humility towards his 12 apostles the night before he died.
It is usually reserved for men because the apostles were male.
The break with tradition has divided opinion within the Church.
