How Germany became Europe's indispensable power

The BBC's Europe Editor Gavin Hewitt goes to Berlin to find out how comfortable the Germans are with their new role as Europe's most influential economic superpower.

The eurozone crisis led to Germany becoming the paymasters of Europe and, although Germany has bailed out many countries, there has been anger towards them with Chancellor Angela Merkel being portrayed as a Nazi by demonstrators in Greece, Italy and Spain.

Gavin Hewitt visits the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg - where many of the company's 10 million cars a year are built - and speaks to students at Humboldt University in Berlin about how they feel about Germany's success and other Europeans' resentment.
