Water cannon used to break up Turkey protests

Riot police in Turkey have once again used water cannon to break up thousands of protesters in Istanbul's Taksim Square.

It is the first clash there for almost a week.

Crowds that gathered to commemorate four protesters and a policeman killed in earlier protests threw red carnations towards police lines.

Earlier, the Turkish prime minister told supporters that the weeks of protests had damaged the country's economy and benefited its enemies.

Susanna Mendonca reports.
