Edward Snowden Moscow arrival 'strange'

Former US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden is due to leave Russia in a bid to seek asylum in Ecuador, reports say.

Mr Snowden flew from Hong Kong to Russia on Sunday but crowds gathered at the arrival gate did not catch a glimpse of him.

Russian media say he was picked up at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport by either a Venezuelan or Ecuadorean embassy car.

One passenger on the flight saw a "normal car" on the tarmac after they landed.

"It's strange, because they were getting luggage straight from the airplane and putting it into the car," said the passenger.
