Pope Francis visits Italy's migrant island of Lampedusa

Pope Francis is visiting the tiny Italian island of Lampedusa, where he will pray for illegal migrants who drowned trying to reach Europe.

He threw a wreath of flowers into the sea, in a sign of mourning - before presiding over an open-air Mass.

A small boat carrying more than 100 Africans, reportedly Eritreans, arrived at Lampedusa's port just hours before the Pope's plane touched down.

David Willey reports.
