Russia Greenpeace protester Colin Russell: My rights have been violated
The human rights of a Greenpeace activist detained in Russia following a protest against Arctic drilling have been "violated very, very badly", he has claimed.
Australian radio operator, Colin Russell, told a court in St Petersberg that he had "done nothing wrong" and did "not understand why [he] was being detained." He also denied hindering a police investigation into the case.
A Russian judge ruled that Russell, one of 30 people arrested during the protest, should remain in jail for three more months pending trial.
