Greenpeace activist: 'I am grateful for getting my liberty'

A British Greenpeace activist who was one of 30 people arrested by Russia for taking part in a protest on an Arctic oil rig has had his criminal case closed.

Anthony Perrett from Newport in south Wales has been told he can collect his visa on Boxing Day and leave Russia.

Greenpeace says it is not clear when the rest of the group will be allowed to leave as part of an amnesty backed by the Russian Parliament.

Despite his three month ordeal, speaking to the BBC, Anthony Perrett insisted he was still proud of his actions. He said he was "grateful for getting my liberty".
