Pope and Archbishop of Canterbury first Christmas messages

Pope Francis has used his first Christmas day message as pontiff to call for humility and peace, touching on the conflicts in Syria, the Central African Republic and the Middle East.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has also given his first Christmas Day sermon in his new role, highlighting what he described as the injustices facing Britain's poor.
