Russia's Lavrov: We will discuss Ukraine with the EU

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said Moscow is ready to discuss measures with the EU that will "eliminate policies" that are creating "dividing lines" in the Ukraine.

Since late November huge crowds have been camped out in central Kiev, opposing the government's partnership with Russia and its rejection of a far-reaching pact with the EU.

Mr Lavrov's comments came after Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych cautioned that the violence threatened the country's stability.
