Ukraine crisis: Russian FM Lavrov accuses protesters of 'armed coup-d'etat'

Russia has criticised the international community for 'encouraging a violent breach of law' by protesters in Ukraine.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, Sergei Lavrov accused protesters of conducting an "armed coup-d'etat" and of "overthrowing the legitimate president".

Mr Lavrov is due to meet US Secretary of State John Kerry in Paris later on Wednesday to discuss the crisis.
