Ukraine 'on verge of being torn apart' - Joe Biden

Speaking in Kiev, US Vice-President Joe Biden has said that Ukraine is "on the verge of being torn apart".

During a joint news briefing with interim Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Mr Biden said that Ukraine faced a "struggle for its very future".

He said that the US stood with a united Ukraine, and that it did not recognise Russia's actions in Crimea.
