From Syria to Bulgaria: Mohamed's story of escape

Mohamed is 17. He was born in Damascus, but forced to flee Syria three years ago after posting a comment about the government on Facebook.

He says he was put under surveillance and that his father was told that Mohamed was on a list to be arrested.

Mohamed's father decided that he should leave Syria for his own safety, along with his uncle. Together, they travelled to Lebanon and then onto Egypt and Turkey. After several failed attempts to make it to Italy and Greece, they crossed the border into Bulgaria.

Now, 20 months after he left Syria, Mohamed lives there in a refugee camp. Eventually, he wants to get to Sweden to complete his education, although his ultimate goal is to go back to Syria to be with his family.
