Ukraine: Khodorkovsky warns against Russia sanctions

The former Russian oil tycoon, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, has warned that European sanctions against Moscow could play into the hands of hardline nationalists intent on isolating Russia from the West.

He urged Europe instead to focus on helping Ukraine become more democratic and stable.

The BBC's Sarah Montague has been talking to him in Zurich about the troubles in Ukraine.

She started by asking him whether he thought Russia's western neighbour was inevitably heading towards civil war.
