D-Day veteran: 'Remember German soldiers too'

A Second World War veteran has urged the British public to remember German soldiers during the D-Day commemorations.

Gordon, from Sussex, was 17 and serving in the field company of the Royal Engineers in June 1944.

Despite seeing two of his friends killed by a German landmine, the 90-year-old insisted the German soldiers should be remembered equally.

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire: "They fought for their country."
