Ukraine's Petro Poroshenko makes plea to 'lay down arms'
Petro Poroshenko has been sworn in as president of Ukraine, setting out a plan to bring peace to the conflict-torn east of the country.
In his acceptance speech at a ceremony in Kiev, he called on all who had engaged in armed action to ''lay down their arms''.
Mr Poroshenko won a landslide victory two weeks ago and wants Ukraine to join the European Union.
