Pope Francis conducts mass wedding at St Peter's in Rome

Pope Francis has pronounced 20 Italian couples man and wife during a mass wedding ceremony in St Peter's Basilica in Rome.

The Pope had asked for modern couples from different social backgrounds.

The first papal marriage ceremony of its kind in 14 years came on the eve of a meeting of Catholic bishops to examine church teaching on family matters.
