UK opposes future migrant rescues in Mediterranean

Officials in charge of securing the EU's borders are meeting in Brussels to consider how best to deal with the surge in migrants trying to reach Europe.

Italy is ending its search and rescue missions in the Mediterranean where abound a 150,000 migrants have been rescued in the past year.

From the end of the week the EU will take responsibility, but will run a reduced operation.
