World War One truce: 'War came to standstill'

On Christmas Day 100 years ago a series of unofficial ceasefires took place along the lines of the Western Front.

Not everyone took part, but for those who did, it was a memorable moment of humanity amid the mud and bloodshed.

In 1968, the BBC filmed veterans from opposing armies who took part what became known as the Christmas Truce.
