Germany protests: Rival rallies held over 'Islamisation'

Thousands of Germans have marched in Dresden on Monday night, protesting against what they see as the growing influence of Islam. But thousands more have taken part in pro-immigration rallies.

The rapid rise of the group calling itself Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West (Pegida) has alarmed the German government, with Chancellor Angela Merkel calling its leaders racists.
