Belgium's battle against terrorism

Last week authorities in Belgium said they had foiled an imminent terrorist plot to launch multiple attacks on the police.

Two suspects were shot dead during a raid in the eastern town of Verviers after they opened fire on officers with automatic weapons, highlighting the dangers Belgium must face on its own soil.
