Oskar Groening on Nazi ideology

A former Nazi death camp guard is going on trial in Germany charged with at least 300,000 counts of accessory to murder.

Oskar Groening, now 93, was known as the "bookkeeper of Auschwitz" and was allegedly responsible for counting banknotes confiscated from prisoners.

In the 2005 BBC documentary Auschwitz: The Nazis and The Final Solution, Mr Groening explained why he and his colleagues believed it was right during World World Two to kill Jews - including very young children.
