Migrants' bodies taken to Malta, survivors to Italy

A ship has arrived in Malta carrying 24 victims of the hundreds thought to have died when a boat sank off Libya at the weekend.

A 20m (70ft) boat capsized on Saturday night, 130 miles (210km) off the Italian island of Lampedusa and 17 miles from the Libyan coast.

It was believed to be carrying up to 700 migrants, and only 28 survivors have been rescued - they are being taken to the Italian island of Sicily.

Yolande Knell reports from Catania on Sicily.
