Fifa corruption: Uefa's Platini told Blatter to resign
The head of European football's governing body, Michel Platini, has confirmed that he asked the Fifa president Sepp Blatter to resign, following the indictment of several senior officials on corruption charges.
But Mr Platini told a news conference that Mr Blatter had refused to step down, saying it was "too late".
Mr Blatter was not among the 14 people charged by the US authorities on Wednesday with racketeering, fraud and money laundering.
