FIFA paid Irish FA to stop Henry handball legal action

FIFA paid the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) €5m to stop legal action after a handball by Thierry Henry cost Ireland a World Cup place in 2010.

The infringement led to a goal for France, clinching victory in a play-off against the Irish national team.

The Chief Executive of the FAI says a "legitimate agreement" was made to drop a potential legal case.

Phillip Norton reports.
