Migrant crisis: 'Schengen border agreement could be suspended' - Germany

Germany's interior minister has said he could not rule out a suspension of the Schengen agreement.

Thomas de Maiziere told BBC News that it was time other European countries took more responsibility over the migrant crisis, adding Britain should take more refugees.

Germany expects up to 800,000 people to seek asylum this year alone - far more than anywhere else in the EU.

The minister was speaking to the BBC's Berlin Correspondent Jenny Hill.
