France train shooting: Passengers recall drama

Three passengers who helped to overpower a heavily-armed man who opened fire on a train in northern France have been explaining what they did.

Anthony Sadler from California, Alek Skarlatos from Oregon, and Chris Norman, a British man living in France, were travelling on the Thalys service from Amsterdam to Paris on Friday. Another man, Spencer Stone of the US, joined efforts to subdue the gunman.

They described the moment a member of staff went running through the carriage and how Spencer Stone, who is being treated in hospital, nearly lost a thumb when the gunman brandished a knife.

A 26-year-old Moroccan man was arrested after being restrained.
