World Beard and Moustache Championships' hairy competitors

An Austrian village is bristling with activity, as the World Beard and Moustache Championships get under way.

Hirsute contestants from 20 countries have converged on Leogang for the event, with many of the competitors hailing from Germany and Austria.

Beards and moustaches are being judged by a jury in 18 different categories, including best goatie, best stubble and best fashion beard.
