MH17 relative Barry Sweeney: 'We hope they did not suffer'

The father of one of the victims of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which crashed in Ukraine, says the official report gives them hope that the passengers did not suffer.

Barry Sweeney's son Liam was among 298 people who died on board in July 2014.

Speaking to the BBC's Anna Holligan outside the Gilze-Rijen military base in the Netherlands, Mr Sweeney said the report mostly told relatives things they "already knew", but that he hoped that the findings meant that the passengers quickly fell unconscious in the air and did not suffer.
