Slovenia receives migrants after border closure

Slovenia has started to register the first of an expected wave of migrants, who were diverted there after Hungary closed its border with Croatia.

The Slovenian prime minister has said that the army will help the extra police who have been posted to the Slovenian border.

Hungary said it had been given no choice because of the European Union's failure to protect Europe's external frontiers.

Ivo Vajgl, a Member of the European Parliament for Slovenia's governing party, explained the procedure that the migrants will have to follow.
