Restoring the roof of Rome's Colosseum

Rome's 2000-year old Colosseum is being restored.

Experts are removing the dark crust on the outside of the amphitheatre caused by rainwater and pollution before they build new facilities for the six million tourists who visit each year.

The project will cost 25m euro (£17.5m) and is being paid for by the shoe company Tod's.
