1916 Easter Rising: Preview of Dublin's plans for centenary commemorations

This year marks the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising, the six-day rebellion against British rule in Ireland.

The brief insurrection failed at the time, but within five years the island of Ireland was partitioned and 26 counties were granted self-rule.
