Turkish authority crackdown picking up at dramatic pace
Reports say the Turkish authorities have formally charged 99 generals in connection with the apparent attempted coup last week - just hours after all academics in the country were banned from travelling abroad.
So far, more than 50,000 people have been rounded up, sacked or suspended, including police, soldiers, judges and about 21,000 teachers. In addition, more than 1,500 university deans have been asked to resign.
