Church attack is 'symbolic confrontation'
A priest has been killed in an attack by two armed men at his church in a suburb of Rouen in northern France.
The armed men entered the church and took the priest, Father Jacques Hamel, 84, and four other people hostage. Both hostage-takers are now dead.
Christophe Premat, an MP from President Hollande's Socialist Party, decried the way a church had been targeted.
