Pope Francis 'shares suffering' of French church

Two armed attackers have killed an elderly priest at a Catholic church in a suburb of the northern French city of Rouen.

Police shot dead the attackers, who had taken several people hostage in the church.

Greg Burke, a press officer for the Vatican, said Pope Francis had been informed.

"He participates, obviously, in the suffering of those (people)," he said.
