Guy Verhofstadt: 'Special arrangement' for some Brits

The European Parliament's lead negotiator on Brexit, Guy Verhofstadt, has said he will try to convince the EU that a "special arrangement" could be made for British people who want to remain in the EU to retain European citizenship after Brexit.

The former Belgian Prime Minister told the Today programme he has received over 1,000 letters from individuals concerned about losing their relationship with Europe and their identity.
