Mario Monti: EU "considerably worse" without UK

Former Italian prime minister Mario Monti says the European Union will be detrimentally affected by the UK’s departure.

"I think the EU will be considerably worse without the UK," said Mr Monti.

Mr Monti, who was also a European Commissioner, said that the bloc would miss the UK’s "strong voice" on free trade and globalisation.
