Turkey's Erdogan is footballer Mesut Ozil's best man

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was the best man at German footballer Mesut Ozil's wedding in Istanbul.

The Arsenal midfielder had previously sparked criticism when he posed for photos with President Erdogan last year.

Ozil married his fiancee, former Miss Turkey Amine Gulse, at a luxury hotel on the banks of the Bosphorus, where Erdogan served as a witness and addressed the couple after the ceremony.
