Jean-Michel Blanquer: 'What happened is beyond words'
The French education minister Jean-Michel Blanquer called on France to unite together in response to the beheading of a schoolteacher near Paris.
Describing it as "rooted in hatred", Mr Blanquer said French people now needed to show their pride in their Republican values of liberty, equality and fraternity, and also emphasised the importance of France's secularism, which he said was clearly under attack.
