Ukrainian buskers perform minutes before the Russian rocket attack which killed them

On 9 August 2023, promising young musicians Kristina Spitsyna and Svitlana Siemieikina performed outside a supermarket in their hometown in Ukraine.

Twenty minutes later, as they sat in a park, they were struck by a Russian rocket and killed.

They are among more than 10,000 Ukrainian civilians killed since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
