Injured seal pups returned to wild

Two seal pups found sick and injured in the Bailiwick of Guernsey have been returned to the wild by a Guernsey animal charity.

The pups named Jethou Bumblebee and Hanois were found in November and January respectively and both were sick, injured and less than half their ideal body weight.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA manager, said the seals had been driven ashore in the winter by the unseasonably rough seas and despite some initial trepidation seemed to have happily returned to the wild.
