Victor Hugo novel inspires new Guernsey sculpture

A new sculpture in Guernsey has been inspired by a Victor Hugo novel written during his time on the island while exiled from France.

The artwork in St Peter Port features the novelist, an octopus and drawings from Toilers of the Sea.

Those passing the sculpture are encouraged to take a seat by the writer.
