Petition presented to Tynwald for Pankhurst mother memorial

Campaigners on the Isle of Man have used its national day to call for a statue to be built in honour of Emmeline Pankhurst's mother.

Sophia Craine was born on the island in 1833 and was a campaigner for women's rights.

On Tynwald Day, members of the public can present petitions on any issue to the Manx government and the Friends of Sophia Goulden group handed over a petition calling for her to be recognised.
