Manx Liverpool ferry terminal takes step forward

Work to complete the Manx government's £70m ferry port scheme in Liverpool has taken a step forward after a pontoon, bridge and ramp were installed.

A government spokesman said the work, which took three days, was "a giant step".

The terminal at the Princes Half Tide Dock is due to be ready for berthing trials early in the new year and ready for passengers by March, he said.

Work on the project began in 2019 but has been beset by delays.

A bid to allocated a further £10m in continency funding to help pay for the project was put on hold in July.

Tynwald members are due to debate the additional cash in November.
