Colombia hostage release 'may prompt peace talks'

A Colombian hostage released by the Farc rebel group after 19 months in captivity has been reunited with his family.

The hostage, local politician Marcos Baquero, was handed over at a secret jungle location in eastern Colombia.

He is one of five hostages the rebels have promised to free this week as a gesture of peace to the Colombian government.

The BBC's Jeremy McDermott said the rebels were hoping to prompt peace talks with the government.
