Mexicans create longest Latin American sandwich

Bread, lettuce, onion, tomato and another 70 ingredients made up the longest sandwich ever prepared in Latin America.

Despite measuring 50 metres, the monster 'torta', as sandwiches are called in Mexico, did not get close to breaking world records.

The Guinness Book of World Records gave the title of largest sandwich ever to a mammoth 2,467.5 kg American creation in 2005.

The longest one was made by two Italians in 2004, who laboured over a 630 metres long sandwich.
