How Soviet cartoons influenced Cuban society

In Cuba, those born in the 60s, 70s and 80s grew up watching Soviet cartoons, which often had relevance to everyday lives in the Caribbean.

They replaced popular cartoons featuring characters such as Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse which were considered animations of "Imperialism".

20 years after the collapse of the USSR, artists who design Cuban animated films speak about how Soviet animations from their childhood influence their work.
