Violence erupts in Chile coup anniversary march
Thousands of Chileans marched in Santiago to mark the anniversary of the military coup, led by General Augusto Pinochet, that abruptly put an end to President Salvador Allende's term in 1973.
But this year the march took place amid a political crisis, and months of violent protests in the streets initiated by university students.
Initially peaceful, the mood changed when hooded protesters joined the demonstration and clashed with police.
