Rio's Rocinha returns to normal after police raid

Hours after a police and army operation aimed at driving drug traffickers out of Rio de Janeiro's Rocinha slum, life is reportedly returning normal.

The government has pledged to invest more than $58.5m to build a cable car system up the steep hills of the favela and to bring more services to the area.

During the raid on Sunday, five people were arrested and hundreds of kilos of drugs, guns, ammunition and counterfeit products were seized.
